Artist's Description
My obsession with negative painting continues with this latest addition to my "Leaves" series. This is the largest painting of this acrylic series so far; it is 30" x 30" on a deep gallery wrapped canvas.
My neighborhood has dozens of gorgeous old oak trees and during my walks I always find myself admiring their beautiful leaves... and when I return home, I find myself wanting to paint them. These days I am also obsessed with painting swirls, mazes, tangles..
About Christiane Kingsley
Christiane Kingsley is a Canadian artist working in watercolor, acrylic,oil and mixed media. She started her art journey more than 30 years ago as a fibre artist ; for many years, she sold her work through major craft shows in the Ottawa,Ontario,area . About 15 years ago, she discovered the magic of watercolour and the transition to this artistic expression was most fluid and logical. Christiane retired in December 2010 after a successful career as a high school teacher and then as a director of learning programs and services in the Canadian federal Public Service. She is now a full-time painter, showing both in the Ottawa and Eastern Ontario as well as on international online galleries. She has been juried in as a permanent member of...
