Description
This original painting from my own reference photo depicts a noble mascarone (a carved stone head on the keystone of an archway of a palazzo). This one really reminds me of a lion and I called it �The Protector� in part because of the word �custodiat� ( subjunctive of the latin verb for �to guard�) that appears carved in the archway.
Awarded 1st Place Trophy at the April 2012 Ottawa Association Awards Show in Ottawa, Canada
